Would you rather tag!

Hi everyone!

So today I thought I'd do the "Would you rather" tag! Please comment and pass on the tag :) Enjoy!

1. Would you rather lose all of your mascaras, eyeliners, lipsticks, and lip glosses or lose all of your palettes and eye shadows?

Hmmmmm, I'd rather lose all my palettes and eye shadows as I just love my mascara, eyeliner and lipstick too much!

2. Would you rather chop all of your hair off or never be able to cut it again?

OMG hard decision! Well, I've cut my hair quite a lot in the past and hated it.... so probs never be able to cut it off... but if I chopped it off, then I could then grow it! Hmmm okay first option.

3. Would you rather have a coral cheek or a pink cheek?

Coral. I have naturally flushed cheeks so pink blusher tends not to look as nice as I'm very pale too...

4. If you had $1000 to spend, would you rather buy clothes or makeup?

These questions are so hard!! Erm, probably clothes.... because clothes last longer....

5. Would you rather apply lipstick as eyeliner, or eyeliner as lipstick?

Deffo eyeliner as lipstick. Not only does eyeliner last longer, but it's much more precise... Plus you can get loads of eyeliner colours that you could pull off on your lips hahaha

6. Would you rather only shop at MAC or Sephora?

Hmmm well we don't have Sephora in England but we do have Mac.... however I think Sephora stock a whole range of brands so I suppose I'd have more choice at Sephora.... So Sephora it is!

7. Would you rather only use one eyeshadow colour or one lip colour for the rest of your life?

One lip colour. I would just wear red lipstick permanently! But I just love changing up my eyeshadows!

8. Would you rather wear winter clothes in summer or summer clothes in winter?

Summer clothes in winter deffo!! I could layer up my summer clothes or just go cold... I prefer being too cold compared to being too hot!

9. Would you rather have dark nails or bright nails all year round?

Dark nails! They're classic and elegant and go with so many outfits!

10. Would you rather give up your favourite lip colour or favourite eye product?

Favourite lip colour probs... I could find another one similar if I tried hard!

11. Would you rather only be able to wear your hair in a ponytail or messy bun?

Messy bun! My hair is quite fine so I love a messy bun as my hair in a ponytail can look a little flat! Plus I can put pretty things in my bun!

12. Would you rather never be able to paint your nails again or never use lipgloss?

Never be able to paint my nails. I love lip products too much!!!

13. Would you rather shave your eyebrows and have none at all or sharpie them in everyday?

OMG hahahahaha!! Probs.... sharpie them in.... hahaha too funny!!

14. Would you rather live without makeup or nail polish?

Again, live without nail polish! Makeup is life!

So this was a fun beauty tag! Send it to loads of people! Hope you're having a fabulous day :)

Happy Tuesday!

What I Ate Wednesday

Hello! Long time no speak! I'm sorry :( But today I though I'd share with you my new healthy eating diet and regime! So I will share with you all the food I've had today. I will have a blog post later on my new exercises and more food posts! But for now... Enjoy!!

So for breakfast I had Muesli topped with fresh strawberries and dried cranberries, with Sainsburys organic semi-skimmed milk! I usually have to be in the mood for muesli but I actually really enjoyed it today! I also had Waitrose smooth apple and mango juice which is fabbo!!

Then for lunch, I scrambled 1 free range, fresh egg and toasted two pieces of Sainsburys Taste the Difference, multi-seeded bloomer... Which I must say, tastes like HEAVEN. I also had it with a glass of water. I did have an apple after but I forgot to take a pic of it - sorry haha. It was just a regular braeburn apple.

Then for my afternoon "Snack" I made my self a Coffee Frappuchino! I brewed a cup of coffee as usual and added a teaspoon of sugar, Waited for it to cool a little before adding vanilla essence, crushed ice and 1/4 cup of milk which I then blended together! It was delicious!! :)

And so finally for dinner, I had fresh Salmon, potato wedges and a healthy salad! Accompanied my lemon water :) And for pudding, I had Rachel's organic raspberry yogurt with fresh strawberries!

Thank you for reading! And I'm trying to make this a weekly thing!! :)
Happy Healthy Wednesday!!

Current foundation routine for dry to combination skin

Hello!
So today I thought I'd do an updated foundation routine as FINALLY I have found one that works for me! So I have dry skin on my cheeks, forehead and jawline but an oily nose. I find that this foundation routine really works and for the most part is inexpensive! I am also deathly pale so if you're a fair skinned lady like me, you should be fine and dandy!

So this is me with no makeup on whatsoever, as you can see I have moderate acne which I am currently having treatment for! I have already cleansed and applied my treatment gel.

1) First, I like to apply my Nivea Express hydration primer (Which I have a review on here). This will create a soft, smooth base for your makeup as well as moisturising and reducing your dry skin!

 2) I apply my GOSH illuminating CC cream in "Porcelain". This is light to build able medium coverage CC cream which gives my skin a really radiant glow! It makes my skin look glowy and dewy (Stay away if you're very oily) and it undetectable on the skin! I'm in love. So as you can see in the images below, it has covered some of the more angry spots and scars however hasn't completely concealed them. It is a very pale colour with yellow/neutral undertones which I LOVE. I applied this with my flat top buffing brush.

 3) To make sure I look flawless and spotless, I use my Estee Lauder double wear foundation in "Shell" as a concealer. I can't use this foundation all over my face unfortunately as it is the wrong colour for me :( I have tried all of the pale colours and none of them were right for me as the foundation is too pink undertoned whereas I am more yellow/neutral undertoned. So as you can see, I applied the foundation in the areas where I had spots showing through as well as circles under my eyes!

4) Using my Mac duo fibre brush, I applied Natural Collection pressed powder in "Warm" on my t-zone. This way it keeps my oily patches nice and matte, whilst maintaining a healthy glow.

5) Apply the rest of your makeup and show people how amazing your skin looks!!

That's it for today folks! Thanks for reading and I hope you found this useful :)

Happy Thursday!

Nivea Daily Essential Express Hydration Primer Dry and Sensitive Skin Review

Hello all! So the end of my exams is near FINALLY!!! So today I'm going to be doing a review on the Nivea Daily Essential Express Hydration Primer so please read on!

But first I need to tell you a story about my skin. One week ago, I had oily/combination skin with acne; therefore every item of makeup I own is suited to that... meaning everything is matte, shine control, oil free etc. But last Thursday my prescription for my skin changed. My doctor prescribed me tetracycline and prescribed me benzoyl peroxide and  Isotrex gel. These are two topical gel/creams that I apply twice a day. However both these products have completely dried my skin out and I am dry, flaky, peeling, burnt, dry and even more dry. It's depressing. So I needed a product I could use under my makeup that would both help and hide my dry skin! And I came across this holy grail! So now that we have the boring story over with, on to the review.

Basics
50ml
£4.99 (Currently on offer in boots for £3.99)
Description: "Provides an even and smooth base for effective make-up application and helps your makeup stay put. Absorbs instantly thanks to its light texture. Uses an effective hydrator for long-lasting moisturisation and a soft skin feeling."
It is also enriched with natural Almond Oil and Calendula Extract.

Packaging
Straight off the bat we can see how nicely packaged this is! It's packaged in a sturdy, round, glass jar with a pink lid (Yay pink). It also comes in a card box with all the ingredients and product details on it as well which is even more nifty. Overall, I really like how it's packaged, the fact that it comes in a box and it made in glass makes everything look more fancy and expensive!

Product
This product is gel/serum based. It has a really nice texture and is very very hydrating. The scent is heavenly! It is actually the nicest smelling product I have ever owned! I can't even describe it! It's a mixture of freshness, summer and heaven. I'm in love. So a little goes a LONG way. You just need a teeny tiny bit and it will cover your whole face. It's cooling and refreshing whilst really moisturising. Once applied it makes your face look dewy so it's NOT matte. It needs about 2 minutes to sink in fully - so it's not quick to sink in which might be a problem for some of you but I don't care. Once it has sunk in, your skin feels velvety and smooth. It's NOT a tinted primer so it doesn't alter skin colour or cover blemishes or anything, however you look very glowy and healthy.

Performance
Although having only used this product for a few days, I have noticed that when I apply my makeup over the top of this, my dry skin looks drastically reduced and it smooths the flaky skin out. As I have bunt patches, this doesn't irritate this or sting at all which is fabbo! So I usually put this on at about 7:15am and take it off around 10:30pm and I feel that it does help my makeup last longer.

Overall
So overall, I think that if you have dry, flaky, sensitive skin.... GO FOR IT. For £4.99 for 50ml which is totally amazing! It can be easily compared to high end/premium brands!! I really love it and would encourage all of you to try this! There is also the same primer but for oily/combo skin if you're interested. However I can't give a personal recommendation as I haven't tried it but I have heard brilliant reviews for that as well! So I really encourage you all to buy this!

I hope you're all enjoying this fabulous warm weather here in Britain!
Happy Thursday

Reasons Why I Love Lea Michele

Hey folks,
So today I'm doing a post on reasons why I love Lea Michele. She is one of my biggest inspirations and a truely lovely person. So here goes!

Her voice - This one was kind of obvious. She has such a big voice for someone so tiny! I remember being blown away when I first heard her belt her songs out on Glee. Her voices conveys a lot of emotion and power that makes her one of the best and biggest voices of our generation!

Her constant positivity - Lea Michele has a great body image that frankly I think more young woman should have. She’s even talked about how she honestly doesn’t give a damn about what people think of her look or her body. “If anyone tells me I can’t eat, then I’m going to tell them to you-know-what themselves.” Aside from that, when Cory (Her boyfriend/fiancee) passed away, she was possibly the bravest person ever.

She loves animals, and she’s not afraid to show it. From working with PETA to help animals support in need to simply cuddling with her pet cat, Sheila, Lea definitely shows the love to her animals.

She's the most beautiful woman ever! With no makeup, on the red carpet, on Instagram, ANYWHERE she looks amazing!

We love you Lea!
Happy Tuesday

Maybelline Super Stay Better Skin Foundation - COLOUR COMPLAINT

So today I'm doing a complaining/negative review on the new maybelline foundation! Now I'm yet to actually try this so I'm not commenting on the foundation itself. However I'm here to complain about the colour. Being a pale/fair skinned girl I assumed that the lightest shade, "Ivory" should be pale enough. However I am appalled at the colour.

This photo was taken in broad daylight, in front of a window. This hasn't got any filters on it etc.

Now I am pale - I give you that... But even still I'm not the palest out there!! But this is an abomination! The last time I checked, ivory was meant for fair skinned women, not super tan jersey shore girls!!

Anyway, I just want to warn you girls and guys who are interested in purchasing this. And maybelline... Shame on you. You need to sort your shades out!!!

A not so happy Saturday!

GOSH X-Ceptional wear foundation

Hello!
So today's post is a review on the GOSH X-Ceptional wear foundation in the colour porcelain. Firstly, I'm going to give you an insight as to what my skin is like;

1) Very bad acne - I take antibiotics and have a treatment gel. So as you can tell, this is a good and fair test to see how good the coverage is.

2) Combination/Oily skin type

3) Lots of redness and dark under eye circles

So here, I applied the foundation to half of my face and the other half is makeup free! I use the colour porcelain.
(I just got out the shower so ignore the hair and dressing gown!)

This photo was taken in front of a window so all lighting is natural. As you can see, the foundation covers up all of the redness and dark circles really well as well as covering up minor blemishes and spots. HOWEVER, I found that on more aggressive, raised spots, this didn't cover them very well and left them with a purple ish colour.

I'd say the finish is semi-matte. The skin looks matte but gives off a subtle glow. I actually really like the finish and think it makes you look incredibly healthy. It looks very much like skin and appears very natural on the skin. The formula is very similar to the Revlon colourstay- moderately thick but also quite runny.

Another good thing is that it doesn't transfer on to clothes or boyfriends ;) It feels a little tacky to touch when applied which may put off some people but I apply powder so it doesn't bother me.

The colour porcelain is very pale which i love however I found that it did oxidise half a shade darker which is annoying for very pale skinned people like me. The shade Porcelain is a pale, neutral undertoned colour - not too yellow, not too pink. For me personally, I prefer yellow undertoned foundations as my neck at chest are yellow toned. It annoys me how makeup brands assume that if you're pale, then you have pink skin!! WRONG.

Anyway, back to the foundation! I'd say the lasting power is about 6 hours. This is with NO primer but set with powder. Any longer than 6-7 hours and it starts to fade and go patchy around oily/dry areas. However I walk everyday in all weathers so this is pretty good considering.

It's hard to see in this photo, but my spots still show through even though the foundation claims to cover imperfections!

So those are my opinions on this foundation. Overall, I rate it at 3/5. Needs better coverage and better staying power. You can only purchase this in Superdrug (Not boots unfortunately) and retails for £7.99 which is a good price especially as you get 35ml whereas most foundations only have 30ml.

Thanks for reading!!
Happy Tuesday!

That's it for today!!

Quick and easy ways to get rid of a cold

Hey folks!
Sorry it's been so long! Christmas is a busy time for me! However I have plans for future blog posts coming soon so  definitely watch out for those!!!! :)
But, if like me, you have a cold and you just want it to be gone, read on for my methods if coping and getting rid of a cold! I'm not a professional or a doctor, these are just my personal opinion!

1) Accept the fact you have a cold. And that no matter what google says, you can't physically make a cold go away... However you can make it easier fir yourself so chin up and try and be positive and remind yourself that colds DON'T last forever and usually only last between 5-8 days!

2) Drink plenty of fluids! Water, fresh juice, milk, squash etc. of course water is the best for you but any fluids will help flush out toxins and other bad germs! I personally don't like water (Weird I know) but I try my best to drink plenty of it when I'm ill! It'll make you need to wee a lot but at least you know your body is getting a detox.

3) Take it easy. Don't plan on climbing Mount Everest any time soon! Sit down when you can, wrap up warm, have plenty of sleep, put your feet up etc. Although fresh air is good for you.... When you have a cold, try not to stay outside for too long otherwise you'll find your cold getting worse.

4) Vapour rub. Before you go to sleep, rub a bit on your chest and neck! They say not to put it directly under your nose but I won't tell if you don't tell!! (Trust me it clears your nose instantly)

5) It's okay to admit defeat! Take that paracetamol if you feel that your sinus' are throbbing you or you have the worst headache or your throat is on fire!! Paracetamol can be your friend just read the box and follow the instructions!

6) Finally - Gloat! Make the most of your illness by getting as much help as you can! "Ohhhh I can't cook dinner tonight! My throat is killing me!" Or "Can you turn off the football please? I have a headache!" WORKS EVERY TIME!

So they're my top tips for dealing with a cold and making your cold that little bit easier! Obviously I'm not a doctor so take everything I say with a pinch of salt, but they work for me so I hope they work for you!! :)

Happy sniffly Sunday!

Christmas fatness and new year resolutions!

How to get rid of christmas fat....Lol you don't. You just cry about it.

Hey folks!
Hope you all had a fabbo christmas and a great new year! I -as always- forgot to do the thing I said I would do in my last blog... But hey ho! So now that Christmas  is over.... How much weight have you put on? I seem to have put on half a cow! I didn't think I usually put on this much weight at Christmas but boy do I look like a heffa! I haven't even eaten THAT much chocolate..... But I have eaten a lot of "Luxury M&S finest biscuits" ayyyyy bit of advertising there ;) but I did eat a lot of those...

So New Years resolutions?

1) Save up to go to Florida - Going to Orlando in 2015 so I'm taking this year to save up enough money!!

2) Wear more skirts - I never seem to wear skirts anymore, but I absolutely love  wearing them!

3) ACTUALLY do something about my fitness, if I'm going to the US I want to look good!

So what are your New Years resolutions?

Happy Saturday!

Nearly Christmas!!!

Well the Christmas tree is up and the chocolates are slowly being demolished!! How's everyone's Christmas shopping going? I've FINALLY finished all mine! I'm so excited its unreal! The annoying thing is however is that we don't break up until December 19th! Practically Christmas Day in my eyes!

Even worse, I have mock exams the FIRST week back after the holidays. So that means spending my holidays revising... Literally want to cry.

But I hope everyone has a good time finishing their Christmas shopping!!! :) I'll be uploading a Christmas holiday party look soon so keep an eye out for that!

Happy Tuesday!

December!

First of all, I want to apologise for my shameful 3 week break! I have been SUPER busy! School can be a super stressful time :( But at least it's almost Christmas! And as always... I'm behind on my Christmas shopping! Also, another annoyance is that my boyfriend AND dad both have birthdays in December which means I have to buy double presents and I have zero money... #LifeProblems

This was just a quick update to show you that I haven't died of stress and anxiety. ALSO who is excited about Lana Del Rey's new short film "Tropico"? I SURE AM!

Happy Wednesday!

Solutions for sleep problems... That Actually work!

Hellooooooo!

So suffering from anxiety caused me to have insomnia... which isn't a nice experience! If you're unfamiliar with what insomnia is, it is difficulty getting to sleep or staying asleep for long enough to feel refreshed the next morning, even though you've had enough opportunity to sleep. Professionals actually say that women suffer more! Probably because we stress out more! But anyway, I thought I would write a list of some things that actually help me sleep!

1) YOUTUBE! I can't explain enough how much youtube has helped me sleep! All you have to do is type in "Relaxation for sleep" or "Relaxing Sounds" etc.... Now it takes a fair bit of researching to find what sends you off to sleep. Now for me, it's relaxing voices whispering or softly speaking; so I did research on Youtube and found some people who make whisper videos and I can honestly say - WHAT THE HELL HAVE I BEEN DOING WITH THE REST OF MY LIFE?! It's got to a point where I listen to them every night in bed! I generally think it's an addiction.... Whoops! All I do is put on the video, put my headphones in and tuck my Ipod or Phone under my pillow and it sends me right off to sleep! Anyway, there is one whisperer on Youtube who I love and listen to all the time! She is amazing and has THE most relaxing voice ever! She originally lived in Russia for most of her life but moved to the USA when she was like 19 or something so she has a slight American accent! It's so amazing and soothing! Anyway she is called Maria, but her youtube is GentleWhispering and this is her; https://www.youtube.com/user/GentleWhispering?feature=g-high-u

2) Air your bed in the morning and open the window! Keep the duvet cover back for as long as possible throughout the day so that when it comes to getting into bed at night; the bed sheets should be nice and cold!! You're probably thinking... "Ermmmm who wants cold bed sheets?" My answer to you my friend is "YOU!" you will want cold sheets! This is because when you get into the bed, the cold sheets will instantly make you feel like you need to snuggle up and get into a comfortable position. Clever I know! If the bed sheets are warm, then you will get into bed and feel more uncomfortable and groggy!

3) This may sound pretty self explanatory but.... go to bed at a reasonable time! Honestly I used to get annoyed at my parents saying that but since I started going to bed a bit earlier, I've been getting such a better night sleep! Even if it's just half and hour earlier or 20 minutes! So I used to get into bed at about 10:30/10:40 but now I'm in bed by either 10:00/10:15. Every little counts :)

4) Eliminate stress before bed! I always used to watch the 10 O'clock news before bed and I started realising that it was stressing me out before bed and I was like "This has got to stop" so I stopped watching it and now I feel so much less stressed! No one wants to be thinking about possible outbreaks of World war 3 before drifting off to sleep! You know how current affairs are.... :/

5) Don't go to sleep angry! There have been many times when I've gone to sleep at about 3am because I've been dwelling on an argument between me and my parents, relationships or friends etc. so don't go to sleep angry because there is a 99.9% chance that your brain will start over analysing everything. Plus, you're more likely to wake up in a bad mood as well... not good :S

So those are my top tips for getting a good night sleep!!
Insomnia's a bitch and I can empathise with anyone who is battling it at the moment. Keep working at it and hopefully it'll pass and sweet dreams will come your way!

Good Luck
Good Night
Sweet Dreams

£20 makeup challenge!

So today my lessons don't start until 1:40... Woooooo! So I have plenty of time to do my makeup so I decided to do the £20 makeup challenge in pictures! I know technically it's the $20 makeup challenge and the exchange rate is like £16.70 or something blah blah blah! But here you go!

MUA cover and conceal in fair £1.50
So I started off applying this to hide my hideous bags under my eyes and it has a really good coverage and is nice and pale for us snowy skin girls.

MUA Hide & Conceal in fair £1
I then used this to hide any spots, blemishes and redness I have. This is a stick formula and is nice and creamy and full coverage!

MUA Undress your skin illuminating foundation in porcelain £3
So then I moved on to this, this is a medium coverage but if used with a flat top buffing brush, you can build up the coverage. It's really creamy and nice and covers everything naturally!

Collection pressed powder in ivory £1.99
This just finished everything off and sets all the foundation etc. it contains silk and vitamin E so it's really soft and nice and has a beautiful scent to it! It takes out the shine and controls the oil throughout the day!

MUA Blusher in Lolly £1
This adds a really nice autumnal flush to the cheeks!

MUA Shimmer Kisses Bronzer/Highlight £3
This isn't actually a bronzer so I don't know why it says that on the packaging but it's a really pretty highlight which I applies on my cheeks!

MUA undress me too palette £2 (Sale)
I used the first 3 colours on the top row all over my lid, then the 4th colour in on the bottom row in my crease!

MUA liquid liner in black £1
I used this to draw a thick black line on my top lid and winged it out to make it look puuuuuuurty!

MUA pencil liner in black £1
I used this on my bottom lash line and waterline to make my eyes look more brown as defined!

MUA mega volume mascara in black £3
It makes my lashes super super super long and super super super thick! It's my favourite ever!

MUA lipstick in shade 1
I finally added this to add a pop of colour to my face!

FINNISHED! It came to £19.49! Thanks for reading!

Happy Friday!
